hello stephen,

could you please explain what info is pubDate tag supposed to give? my wife got confused yesterday because she saw my recent (pubDate) position at incorrect coordinates once i started TMJ on my e51 without connecting it to gps.

possible explanation: either pubDate really means date/time of last device access (thus it has nothing to do with sending the position info) or e51 sent latest position as the current one

thank you,

jose

Hi Jose,

Yes, this is a bit confusing - the pubDate is the date/time that the device last connected to the website (ie via Menu/Web/Enable Upload).

I've just tweaked the Livelink feed so that the RSS <description> text now correctly gives the time of the location fix. If you need to extract this programatically then the XML feed is probably better - it gives the <lastcontact> time (same as pubDate above), along with the <time> and <timezone> (in minutes +/- UTC) of the location fix.

Hope it helps!

Cheers,
Stephen
