Hi,

An observation, and a couple of thoughts on the Stopwatch...

* If I run the stopwatch with my GPS turned off - so no positional input (I was just using it to time something). Everytime I stop it, the 's/w trip distance' goes up by 0.3 ft (or maybe more significantly, 0.1m)

By the way, being able to define shortcut keys to control the stopwatch (or any other shortcut) is an excellent useability enhancement!

Points for discussion with the stopwatch:
- Do you think you should only be able to 'Reset' the stopwatch if it is stopped?
- Do you think that if shortcut keys have been setup to control the stopwatch, that they should only work when the stopwatch is being displayed?

My initial thoughts are 'yes' to both questions, but does anyone else agree??

Regards,

Chris.

Aha, so it does - how odd! Was easily fixed, but was due to a rounding error when calculating distances between points...

" Do you think you should only be able to 'Reset' the stopwatch if it is stopped? ... if shortcut keys have been setup to control the stopwatch, should they only work when the stopwatch is being displayed? "

I thought a fair bit about both these points and I'm not completely sure myself which is better, though I figured that the Start/Stop shortcut should *always* do the action its intended for, otherwise you'd often need to press at least two keys to make it work, making the point of having the 'short' cut rather pointless - might as well just press [0][7] and be done with it (assuming that [0] is set to the shortcut menu)! The Reset function might be better the way you suggest - I suppose I could make it an option, though perhaps it doesn't particularly matter either way, I don't know!!

Anyone else any thoughts...?

Cheeres,
Stephen
