ChrisM 15:24 Location: Phone Model: | Hi Stephen, Quiet at work this afternoon, so I downloaded the new version for a quick play. A few things that stand out. Good stuff first! - Really like the map-dimming thing. Will try this out on the way home, when it gets dark... (maybe you could put 'Change Map Contrast' into the shortcut menu in a later release?? so that we can toggle the brightness without having to go into the menu - maybe even link it to the day/night mode...??) - Also, love the OS Coordinates. That will be really useful next time I'm out walking, and don't have an appropriate map loaded into TMJ!! Couple of other things, and please don't see these as complaints!! - The menus seem to be behaving slightly differently again. Mainly the 'C' and 'Go-Back' keys don't seem to back out of the menus like they used to... left arrow does though, so not a big issue. (I am using the 5/6 version this time). - On the same subject, the behaviour in the menus seems to be slightly inconsistant in a couple of places. Eg in most menus, <LeftArrow> backs out of the menu system, but in the new 'Define Shortcut Keys' menu, it changes the currently selected item back down the list of options. - Waypoints menu. I can't see the 'Website' option. Am I doing this right? Map Screen -> Context Menu-> (Selected Waypoint) -> Options are: 1. Select <waypoint> 2. View Description (greyed out) 3. View Coordinates (Excellent!! could be very useful) 4. Append to Route 5. Send via SMS 6. Edit <waypoint> But no 'Websites' option... have I misunderstood how this feature works?? In case it's relevant, I am NOT connected to my GPS device at the moment as its battery is currently flat. That's all for now. " Actually, it *should* already do this - it remembers separate brightness settings depending if it is set to day or night mode. (So the extra shortcut menu probably isn't necessary, do you think?) The C and Back keys are now completely unmapped by default so that you can choose whether you want them to do different functions (I have my C key set to reset the stopwatch). They can still be set back to their previous behaviour by mapping them using a spare shortcut key and set the Action to 'None'... " On the same subject, the behaviour in the menus seems to be slightly inconsistant in a couple of places " There are two types of multi-choice menus - the ones with a left and right arrow <> allow the selection to be both increased and decreased, whilst the ones with only a right arrow |> can only be cycled in one direction. I've used the former ones where there are a lot of choices (as in the Shortcut keys and Profile menu), and the latter when there are only a few (as in the Units menu). (This is the same behaviour as in the previous version) " Waypoints menu. I can't see the 'Website' option " I guess I should also add the Websites list into the waypoint menu as well. For the moment it only displays if you select an empty patch of ground (or turn off Item Highlighting), ie: Map Screen -> Context Menu -> Map Location -> Websites -> etc As long as the map scale is large enough I figured its easy enough to just scroll *off* a waypoint to access the websites list, but I will add this into the next version...
