ChrisM 11:31 Location: Phone Model: | Hi, Seeing as 'shchenka' has posted a big list of requests :-) though I'd add one one my own... well, as always not a request, just a suggestion... With the waypoint alerts, is it possible to adjust the proximity radius according to the speed? Eg. The default radius could be 100m, then for every 10mph you add 25m. This would mean you would get more warning when you were going faster. I know you said that the method of calculation is quite optimised, so may this is more difficult than it sounds? What do you think?? Cheers, Chris.
Stephen 14:44 Location: Phone Model: | Hi Chris, In effect I guess this boils down to defining the proximity threshold as a 'time' figure instead of a distance. eg: Alert when you're X-seconds away from a waypoint, based on the current speed... I've been working on the proximity code again recently - its beginning to get a little complex, but I'll see how easy it might be to add this in. Incidentally I didn't have much luck in using the phones Alarm sound as the proximity alert. My W910 and W800 don't seem to want to play anything other than the default sound when bringing up the alert - other phones may be different, but I suspect that most Sony Ericssons will be similar. I'll see if I can make the screen flash or something instead... Cheers, Stephen
ChrisM 22:20 Location: Phone Model: | Well, a screen flash would be pretty good. When I'm driving, the phone is in a stand just on the edge of my field of view, so a flash would probably attract my attention. Regards the sound, to be honest, whatever sound the phone makes, it would probably be drowned out by the stereo anyway. I don't have it on THAT loud, but it's probably normally louder than the phone's sound output... Regards, Chris.
